Center dash vent: louver slats unhooked

I inserted a smartphone holder into the center vents above the radio (bad idea), and managed to undo whatever moves all the louvers together; now they only move separately. (Don't believe I broke anything that would require a replacement vent, as I didn't hear or feel the "snap" of a broken plastic piece.)

So… anyone know how to fix without removing the radio or taking apart the dash? I read one post that mentioned going in there with a very small screwdriver (the kind used to unscrew laptop screws) or some other small pointy tool to "rehook a pin" (and I will do that), but it didn't go into details on exactly how to accomplish that.

Thanks.

My car came with one vent in such a condition. I just had to look at it carefully and was able to pop it back into place without breakage or marks of any kind. Good luck!

Thanks! Will put on my hands-free flashlight, grab an eyeglass screwdriver and see if I can fix it.

After dislocating one of mine, I wasn't able to fix it from the outside until I took my dash apart of another reason, and figured out how it all hooks together with the piece out of the car. I have no idea how to convey this info with words though. It's about 8 screws to get the whole center console apart and pop the vent box out. Try that?

^ Thanks, if I can't fix without taking dash apart, that'll be plan B.
