What's it worth?

Kind of bitten by the RX-8 bug lately and trolling for deals. Found this:

https://oklahomacity.craigslist.org/cto/6131567363.html

Seems way over priced judging by KBB (which says an 07 GT in excellent condition with 15k original miles is only worth $6k), but the local market is flooded with cheap 04's, so maybe an 07 could command a premium.

Am I better off getting an 04 for around $2-3K expecting rebuild soon, or going with this 07 with a recently installed reman motor?

I paid $4,000 for this car with almost identical mileage, and about 20k on the reman engine. Considering all the **** I've had to replace, I overpaid by at least $1000. I'd keep looking.

If you're going to buy a car expecting to rebuild the engine you might as well just buy a rust-free roller from south of the salt belt and get the engine rebuilt.
