Where do I begin... Back in July of 2016 my rx8 gave out on me on my way to work. I had it towed back to my house and plugged in the obd scanner to see what was wrong with it. When it gave out on me my check engine light was flashing and when I tried pushing on the gas but it just reved and didn't gain speed. Now when I plugged in the obd scanner it gave me codes P0301 & P2070. I changed my ignition coils and spark plugs/wires and still nothing wouldn't turn over and turn on.

So looking in to the codes I already assumed rebuild since it was a front rotor misfire and my SUV was stuck open. I took it to a rotary specialist out here in So Cal and he told me I had low compression on my front rotor. So it was rebuild it was rebuild time. He told 3,500 for the rebuild and I gave him 3k still owing him 500 still. This was back in August of 2016 , its January 2017 now and he still doesn't have it ready.. He told me that he was waiting on my housings and that he was going to hook me up with a ssv he had in his shop.

I'm starting to get impatient since it's almost 6 months and I still haven't got it back. I'm wondering if there's any other Rotary Specialist that rebuild out here in So Cal? I'm done waiting on this guy.

Where are you at in SoCal? If in the SF Valley I would recommended Tri-Point Eng. in Chatsworth, Ca.

 

Check out J&G automotive in La Crescenta. He does a lot of work for the RX7 club locals, and also does plenty of RX8 rebuilds.
