I recently purchased a rx8 I've owned an fc fd and rx8 in the past. This rx8 has no sunroof but has bose heated seats and is aubergine and 6 speed is that a rare package I have never seen a sunroof delete gt package before

 

Are you in Europe? That sounds like an Evolve package - European equivalent to Shinka. They're pretty rare, there were under a 1000 made for the UK, not sure if they were sold in the rest of Europe.

It's possible it's a Touring trim and someone installed the seats. Do you have the Bose stereo, Homelink mirror, or know if the mirrors are heated?

I doubt somebody installed the seats. I have bose and homelink not sure about the mirrors on how to check if those are heated

 

bcm was the only color of the shinka in 05 and one of a few colores offered on the 06 shinka. iirc its in the door jamb

 

It's an 05 with 28w paint code. But I dont see any shinka badges

 

I think there is a VIN decoder that can help.

looks like black crerry mica which is a shinka. it should say shinka on the bottom of the black part on the b pillars (between the doors)

Black Cherry Mica is quite the special color! A friend of mine, who's been in the car many times (mostly at night), finally saw it in bright sunlight the other day. "Your car… it's PURPLE!" She likes the color, but it just goes to show how that color changes dramatically. It's a deep, metallic reddish purple-ish (actually, the color of black cherry soda) in sun, dark, blackish-brown when overcast (and when dirty), and black at night. Enjoy it.
