I've been to two so far (one was a mazda only dealership and the other was a toyota/mazda dealership) the only mazda dealership told me yes and every mechanic is certified to work on the RX8. The toyota/mazda said mazda had totally wiped it's hands clean and won't do much for ya. I just bought an R3 because from what i've heard the second generation have pretty decent reliability however I may be moving and I don't want to have to drive 2 hours to get my car repaired. Have you guys ever brought your car in they say nope we don't work on rotaries?

 

If they sell Mazdas, they have to service them and honour warranties. Call Mazda North America, they'll have the best info.

The other thing though, is do you want to bring your car to a dealer who expressly refuses to work on rotaries, even if Mazda forces them to?
