Newbie intro & help please.

Hi all,
Wife bought an 8. YAY , no arguments from me !!! Its an 08 model. 70 K on the clock.
Anyway, seems to have developed a bit of a problem, and was hoping someone might be able to help.
History is ... new cats 50k. Just recently new plugs, leads, coils.
Its seems fine up to about 3500-4000rpm then lags until 7000rpm but then goes hard till red line. Has anyone else heard of or had this issue ?
Any input would be appreciated.

Cheers, Brad.

I would inspect/replace air filter, inspect / clean MAF, and check the SSV. SSV is another set of air intakes that opens at 3750 rpm. If that is no operating correctly, the car will stutter as it is not getting clean airflow. The SSV was updated with a new actuator and assembly. This post will guide you through removal and inspection.
