Have I lost my mind? Bose system w/o door amps?

I am in the middle of a complete teardown/rebuild of the factory BOSE system. Today I changed out the door speakers to some 6.5 components. I've spent literally hours reading the stickies and FAQ's in this subthread, and to my amazement there were no amps behind the door panels (I do have the amp in the rear powering the 6x9's though). This isn't an issue - I don't care - as I'm running my new speakers off aftermarket amplifiers, but I am just confused as to where my door amp(s) are?

My car is a 2007 model, did something change at some point in time? Are these speakers perhaps run off the amp in the trunk?

Unrelated, drilling and running wires through those molex connectors made me want to kill myself.

This is an old thread I know, but for anyone who reads this and wonders, yes there are 2 types of Bose door woofers. The First type has the small seperate amp next to the woofer and the later type has the amp integrated into the speaker. The newer type has a wierd finned Metal front which is the heatsink for the amp under the black cover on the front.

Hi, do you know what the pin outs are for the woofer with the built in amp? I have searched for hours now and can only find pin outs for the head unit and amp for the rest of the speakers.
I want to use this woofer in a portable boom box, but don't want to take a chance on the connections and ruin the amp part...

Did you ever get the pin out? I’m trying to use a 2005 speaker with side amp in a 2006 to replace my speaker (with amp on the front of speaker). My speaker/amp is crackling when there is any bass content.

thanks
