For my birthday, my wife got me a new set of BHR coils!!! Need to change the oil and get some plugs!! Can't wait!

Got aftermarket coils, mechanic ordered and put them on without consulting with me first, which I requested before he ordered anything, now I have aftermarket import coils, he says he puts them on all his imports which raised a HUGE red flag, should I just let it be or have him redo them with oem coils

uhhh if i didn't request it, I'd have him put in at least oem coils. he can save the "import" coils that he has for his next generic import.

What's the perceived difference between BHR and stock that you can share?

 

Well, to begin with, they are completely different coils.

 

I don't think there is a difference from new stock or BHR, the difference is the BHR will be able to take more power, and you won't have to replace them again. When it comes time to replace your coils it makes sense to do them one time and forget about it. Also if you are planning on fi you will need upgraded coils. I started to have a slight hesitation when sitting at stop lights so decided to change to the BHR coils, the hesitation is now gone.

 

how about when asked for the difference.. instead of just letting us know,
" oh yeah we dyno tested it several years ago and we live streamed it, had results notarized and inspected by the pope... so you can bet there is a deifference. "

then freaking link the results here!

you think if you were proud of this product you would put a link to the damn before and after dyno in your signature....

Yeah, I probably could have answered that better. Since I am mostly stock (installed my RB Intake when I did my coils) I am not sure there is any power increases to speak of with installing the BHR coils over new stock coils. Of course the BHR coils are better and will last forever and when I decide to go FI I will have all I need in the coil department. If you only install them for the reliability factor alone they are worth the upgrade IMO. If I didn't think they were a quality product I wouldn't have purchased them and Charles has been more than helpful on here from everything I have read. The only issue I had is that they are a little bigger than stock and there was alot of cussing involved in getting them to fit lol.
