new oil/trans coolers

Hi, I noticed the fins on my coolers were busted up pretty bad not allowing air flow. This could be part of my overheating I believe.

Should I order two of these?

Thanks in advance!!

No...those would suck

You would be much better getting a used set of good condition OEM ones

I see a lotnof after market coolers, can someone help me by recommending a brand and model for left and right? I dont race but I want something effective and worth my money. I sank a lot into the car and just need to make smart investments.

After driving my current coolers get really hot to the touch, burns my hand actually.

Thanks in advance!

Stock is best...unless you want a lot of work to do custom lines and fittings...then it might be worth it.

The Stock ones work well...they have thermostats built in as well....

I have 2 huge Setrab coolers...and custom setup...but it cost close to 2K by the time it was all done. You don't need to go there for a street car

I live in Hawaii, no rx8 in the junk yard here, parts aren't readily available.

Will anything on this list be worth my time and effort?

Get a radiator comb and straighten the fins out......either that or get a set shipped from the mainland. They aren't that heavy.....

The coolers likely aren't causing you much of an issue......it is much more likely to be cooling system related

The B&M ones are closest...but they still won't work as well as the stock ones. You should be looking at engine oil coolers as well...the tranny ones often aren't as heavy duty

And you need something that takes -10 or 5/8 JIC type fittings...not the small 3/8 or 1/2" tube ones

Saturday i will have my lower tray put on..

My concern is that I cant use my AC, I can push high RPM and drive just fine with no heating issues, fans wont stay on longer than 15 seconds.

The moment I use AC, even at night. (Oh boy) Those fans can stay on for 20 minutes, if im stationary longer than 2 minutes I am better off shutting the car off or face boil over.

I am willing to fix whatever parts I have to, the fins look like they got flattened by debris over years. I can post a picture. Give me 5 minutes

Those are ugly...damn salty air

look at this...it is the kind of parts you need to do an upgrade. It seems expensive looking at it...but the fittings are a lot more than you think

It looks like I wont be replacing my coolers unless I dish out a thousand dollars.

I hate to believe that there is no cheaper alternative. I see coolers for 50,100,150,200 bucks, none of them are worth a damn?

Well when I got the car I knew you have to pay to play. I see the mushimoto kit is cheaper than the OEM, Cheapest I found the OEM is $1,040.00 ouch! I feel bad for anyone who gets in a fender bender, thats one heck of a job.

I have a set of OEM ones...I'll look at them and see how much they would cost to shop to you. They are just taking up space.
