So I'm getting an 04 RX8 at 99k miles within the next week
I was insured that the car has been properly maintained and babied for the last 11 years of its life. Apparently it was owned by one of my Marine Uncles thats off on tour right now.

I'm not going to refuse this car because its a gift? Is there anything special I should be doing, I've read about the car and since it's at 99k miles I'm just asking for some advice. I'm looking to get at least 50k more miles out of the car...

Oh yeah I skimmed through that...specifically asking about longevity of the engine and will it hold up another 30k miles since I've been hearing that the engine falls apart after 100k

 

Skimming isn't good enough.

 

Best bet is read those links til you feel like your eyes are about to bleed. Learn it well as the info there could save you a ton of grief down the road (if not sooner). Far too many people have "skimmed" or outright skipped over the reading altogether and wound up hurting financially and emotionally when something they weren't expecting gave them a good swift kick in the wallet.
