Well after getting some estimates today it looks like insurance is gonna want to total my 8 out. I'm having a hard time deciding if I want a salvaged title car or figure out another option.. Any advice?

 

you could use the money from insurance to buy one like what you had. Assuming you had full coverage!

 

mine cost 1300 to buy back and i had way more than that in aftermarket parts. ive already got at least half of that $back and havent really started parting out. plus if you buy another you have a parts car

 

The car is still fine, it's from hail damage last week here in east TN. I'm thinking about taking the check and buying it back and basically having a free car. Then just replacing the hood and some others. But the car will then have a salvaged title...

 

Depending on how severe the hail damage is, you might want to think about telling the insurance company to take a hike and fix it yourself. That way you a) keep the clean title and b) get to decide who will do the work rather than being told where to take it.

 

I meant to update yesterday, I spoke with my insurance and they are going to total it but because the car is over 10 years old and it's hail damage I'll still have a clean title after I buy it back.
