I bought a whole hid headlight assembly for my rx8. My car comes stock with the hid headlights i ordered the replacement from a junk yard when i got it the wire that goes between the ballast and the bulb socket is severed (the one that is insulated in a steel braided sleeve). So my question is... is there any way to replace just the wire and socket? If so can someone point me in the right direction because i have literally no idea what to do and i dont want to buy a new hid ballast if possible because theyre kinda costly.

You have to take apart the assembly and replace the ballast. You can either bake the headlight apart or cut it with a dremmel.
