I just picked up this 2004 Rx-8 with 96k miles for $7,000

Banzai Racing just recently did an engine rebuild along with a street port and polish (over $6000 rebuild). I have had the engine tuned by MazdaManiac vai cobb AccessPORT. The center plate and rotor housings are new and the engine only has 5,000 miles on it since the rebuild. Car was garaged for all but 2 winters. I am looking for someone who will give this car a good home. I am asking $8,000 OBO

*This car was never desined to be a drag racing car.. It redlines at 9000 RPMs and gets a majority of its power in the higher RPM bands. She sticks to the road like glue! Extremely fun to drive.

**No issues with the car. I hate to see it go.

Sounds like a very good deal.
Does it have an OEM cat on it?
If not, you may want to consider a midpipe, as most aftermarket cats don't last long on 8s.
