Torque arm delete.

Torque arm delete.

Looking to ditch the torque to free up some space to run true dual exhaust for a swap. Anyone had any success in this area?

Have to fab transmission and diff mounts and you would also have to get an aftermarket driveshaft. The stock driveshaft is carbon fiber and the power plant frame (not a "torque arm") protects it.

You knew what I was getting on about. It is a torque arm. Torque arm is a common colloquialism for the device that connects the transmission and differential providing rigidity and elminating the need for diff and trans mounts.

I know the that the trans and diff will need mounts. My question should have been clearer. Anyone actually done this? How did you do. Pictures of a torque arm/ppf delete would wonderful.

Else, has anyone managed to run a passenger side exhaust at least 2.5" in diameter with the stock trans, PPF, and diff? I am looking at using an adapter plant and putting a chevy 4.8 or 5.3 for increased torque, mpg, reliability, and aftermarket support. At current I have the swap close to 100% engineered as far as mounting the engine, cooling the engine, fueling the engine, steering the vehicle, and most of the electronics intergration. At current I will be keeping the mazda ecu to provide essential functions, but at some point i would like to use a canbus translator.

I still need to figure out AC lines, Heater Core/Radiator hoses, and exhaust routing.

You ever figure this out? Intrested in doing same thing. Trans mount would be simple. But how would you do rear support? Please let me know if you found something

I have attempted running 2inch dual on my v6 swap with stock tranny. It comes too close to the starter motor and or fuel brake lines maybe 1 inch away from fuel lines and 1/2inch to starter. I wasn't comfortable with that so ended up changing it.

I might give it a try then. I located my fuel line on other side of the frame rail or what ever it's called. Lol. My brake lines are still located there but can probably wrap those in heat wrap or somthing.worse comes to worse can probably move those too. Well u have me a weekend project. Lol
