SpeedSource Gives Mazda RX-8 First Win

PHOENIX, Ariz. (April 11, 2004) -- Sylvain Tremblay and David Haskell gave the Mazda RX-8 its first North American professional race win with their Grand-Am Cup Series victory in the Phoenix Sport Touring 200 at Phoenix International Raceway. A good pit stop strategy allowed the pair of drivers to pilot their SpeedSource No. 70 Mazda to a 27-second lead over the polesitting Turner Motorsports No. 95 BMW of Don Salama and Will Turner.

Absolutely super! Now, if they can just keep improving the car, since its new, the boys at BMW won't lead the series for long.

Turner drives the bimmer 330i I think.

Great job Dave! Sounds like the car drove great. 27 seconds is a very large lead for your class, was it really ALL pit strategy?

Wow! Great news!

1st - Mazda RX8 (No. 70)
2nd - BMW 330i (No. 95)
3rd - Acura RSX-S (No. 27)
4th - Lexus IS300 (No. 3)

I wonder what other cars participate?
