Hey guys, I'm Luis from Florida. I just got myself a black, 2005 Grand Touring with the 6-speed manual transmission. Now prior to buying this car I'd heard all of the horror stories, recalls, and engine failures. Now this is my second car (my first one being a 1998 Honda Civic, also stick) and even through all of that, I still decided to buy it. Now I do a lot of driving. In less than two years, I put about 26,000 on that Civic. So as a new RX-8 I have some concerns which hopefully you guys can help me out with.

1.) I just filled up for the first time, calculated my gas mileage to be about 13.8 MPG which is a lot lower than most people's on here, what can I do to improve it? By the way, most if not all of my driving is city.

2.) I know that she is a fine car and needs a lot of caretaking. What are the best things I can do to make sure that she always starts up? I've already been doing the basics like letting her warm up for 5-7 minutes, not shutting her down cold, and red-lining once a day.

3.) Any other pieces of advice for me and my new RX-8

I'm still pretty nervous about this car because my Honda never had any problems, I'd appreciate the help because it would make me feel better, thanks everyone!
