Hi guys,
just wondering if anyone has any information regarding the CEL. A few nights ago when I started my 8, the yellow/orange amber CEL came on solid and stayed on. The next morning. when I started it up again the amber CEL remained solid. I made an appointment to see Mazda tech. Then proceeded to run a few errands. A few hours later, when I started it up, the light was gone. Does this mean problem was fixed?


It ran a code p2070 imtv stuck open. Secondary Shutter Valve. This may be caused by carbon build up at SSV bushing.

imtv System is working ok now so nothing was done. Should/could something be done?

 

They may have just cleared the code. Unfortunately they do that from time to time. Wait and see if it comes back.

 

There is a DIY on the forum how to clean the SSV.
