proud new owner with questions

So i bought my 07 3 weeks ago with 79000 miles. Per everyone's recommendation I went and had a compression test done today. Rotor 1 @ 285 rpm- 6.9, 6.8, 6.6. Rotor 2 @ 286 rpm- 6.0, 6.1, 6.0. The dealer is telling me these are within spec but it's my understanding that 6.9 is the very bottom of spec. What's my next move?

Those are not in spec, the main issue is that the RPM standard that Mazda puts out is at 250 RPM, and the test was done at ~285. Which means lower RPM, lower compression, and all of those numbers are under 6.9.

They can't deny the repalcement under warranty, it's almost been 8 years, they're just waiting for that 8th year to hit so they don't have to replace it. Also check the attachment for the PR. It also has contact information to Mazda.

You might wana push them for a replacement or redo the compression with rpms at 250 to get a better picture of your engine's health.

Are you experiencing any hot start issues?
Power Loss?
Hesitations while accelerating? or Redlining?

Go for a r15-20 minz of drive, a redline a few time, drive hard and then park and look at the cat and see if its glowing red, if it is get it replaced under warranty as well.

All the best

No hot start or hesitation issues thankfully. Now I used one of the online calculators to normalize those numbers for rpm and altitude and came up with higher numbers so now I'm more confused. I will check the cat as suggested though
