Newbie female RX8 owner

Hey guys,

So I just bought a 2005 stock standard RX8 and I am in love!

First things first, there's moisture in my L tail light, the owner before me had the same problem with the R tail light, took it out, drilled two holes and it's fine now - just wondering if this is the best option, I called Mazda and they advised they could replace a part in the tail light but it would fault again at some stage and drilling is my best and cheapest option (though I'm not 100% sure I want to take their advise due to the guy mentioning the RX8s pistons at one stage..)

Secondly, I need advise - she's a dark grey RX8 on stock Mazda rims and I'm wanting to put her on something else once my tyre tread gets lower (currently 6MM on all tyres) and I'd like to go bigger too, 18/19'' - advise on colors and brands or even specific wheels would be much appreciated!

Any advise on up keep/maintenance would be much appreciated also.

Ps I'm from New Zealand (just a heads up before anyone mentions any brands that aren't from here, I have to run a rotary now people, I can't afford to import)

Welcome . Come to the MMRR .see the nz/aus forum ..... The taillight thing is common . Do a search and find the DIY fix . Much better than drilling .

Welcome....

What he said above. The fix is to dry it, then seal better around the bulb hole...

Also, check out the $100 thread in my signature. There is a lot of useful stuff I learned the hard way in my first few years of ownership.

And, again, welcome.
