Anybody experienced with coilover installation??
Hi, I recently got new RPF1s installed. Now I have stance SS coilovers to put in. but I dont have the knowledge or mechanical ability to do them myself. Is there anybody near Atlanta, Georgia who can help me lower my car with these coilovers? I'm willing to pay and drive to wherever to get this done.
thanks!
thanks!
Have you gotten this done yet as I would be willing to help you out. I can show you how to do it so be prepared to get your hands dirty.
And do you also have the Spanner wrench that should of came with the kit?

Its pretty straight forward, couple DIY laying around here to give you a rough finished alignment but I would recommend getting a corner balance and alignment after to take advantage of its potential.
Okay so long story short, I decided to take it to a shop a few days ago and have them install it, but after they were finished, they said they heard a lot of clunking in the rear, they got short tempered because they couldnt figure it out. Got away with free install and alignment. The clunking issue is weird though. Any ideas?
Clunk could be endlinks are loose. Maybe the spring mounts are loose but that would be more of a rattle. Tightening the bottom bolt for the shock without the hub being raised up can cause a squeak from the bushing.
Worse at low speed? Give more details

If there was no noise before, it sounds like they did something wrong.
Do they have experience in coilovers b/c it sounds like they might of dropped your springs when lowering the car instead of the tube which is how you adjust them.

Also, when i jack up the car from the front and then drop it , the clunking comes back for a few miles then goes away. I'm thinking it has to do with the spring preload maybe?

I took it to Mahdavi Motorsports. They seemed like a pretty trustworthy shop when i read online. But needless to say, I will NOT be ever going back. They would have temper tantrums every 5 mins over the smallest things and would take it out on me. The owner claimed to have built over 10,000 cars...yet he cant install coils correctly?
Okay, so today I tried to lower the back a little bit and realized It's not as easy as turning the locking collars and done. Seems like I have to unbolt the whole assembly to turn half of the assembly. I have the stance SS. Is this really the only way to adjust ride height?
Dang man. Did not know coilovers took thaat much effort just to adjust the ride height. Would it be possible to just unbolt the bottom and twist up, or do i literally have to take the whole coilover out, adjust, and put back in? Sorry, I'm a noob to this
