I recently dipped my wheels white and put the pearlizer effect on them. I was looking to add something else to make my wheels stand out a bit more.
I was thinking to add some colored lug nuts (maybe anodized red or blue), and to add some red rim strips. (if you don't know what I'm talking about, here is a link Eye Catching & Sexy Mechunik Colored Rim Strips)

What do you guys think? Do you think it will look good or tacky?

 

the time attack/red stripe is kinda dated. get whatever lugs you like. i have neo chrome lugs on my black wheels

 

Im probably going to anodized blue then. If i paint them, will they last long? The brand i will probably use his dupli-color. Same goes for the brake calipers except in regular red. Will those last long as well?

 

It will look horrible. Just remove the plastidip and save for decent wheels and lugs.

 

I like the white wheels on VR and will prob paint my s1 stockies white when I have the time (altho might try gold/bronze). When it all comes down to it, do what you think looks good. Opinions are like a**holes... everybody has one

 

+1! Not liking white wheels on a vr…It is your own car though...

 

You should try a gold color to bring out the gold flake in the VR paint. White is definately not the color for the VR paint IMO.

 

+2 Don't do it. Like he said save some decent wheels. Pay attention to the for sale section on here.

 

Not a fan of aftermarket rims on this car. But the gold dipped rims sound interesting.

I saw this rx8 on google images that i really liked. I thought the colors looked good together. It had white rims with blue lugs and blacked out the chrome accents in the front. I'll attach the pic so you guys can see for yourselves.

I just havent seen anything on an rx8 that I really liked.

I just did calipers, lugs, and the center logos (pictures attached) Couldn't find an exact color copy of that other 8's lug nuts, this one is a bit darker. Now that I painted the centers, i feel like it looks a bit odd, what do you guys?

I already looked through a couple pages of that, some of them look alright, but i just think the stock rims are clean and classy compared to like 95% of aftermarket rims.
The more I look at my rims, the more i dislike the colored center caps. I ordered some rotary center caps from rotaryfx. I'll put them on soon and put up pictures to anyone who wants to see
