So I ordered a new fob but they didn't tell me that it doesn't come with the emergency key. They want $80 for it and I think that is ridiculous since I found them on ebay for $10 but the listing says that it does not have a chip in the key. The dealer says they aren't suppose too. But my question is the key suppose to have a chip or not. Not the remote/fob but the actual key.

 

Both fobs came with my rx8 have the emergency key. For $80, I am surprised that it doesn't come with it!

 

When I went in to get a quote for a new fob they made me aware that they were two separate pieces, and costs. For the 500 they wanted for everything + programming, I bought and had a viper alarm and remote start installed. Something to consider
