RX8 2005 Troubles. Looking for Possible Issues
Hi Everyone!
I 've been having issues with my 05 RX8 for the past year. The engine has had issues of starting on and off. Initially I thought it was a battery and spark plug, so I had those replaced and it worked for a bit, but still had problems. It would struggle to start but once it started it'd run fine. The problem was when I would turn off the car after the drive, it wouldn't start again until I let the engine sit for about 15-20min.*
Now altogether the car won't start. I doesn't even crank. Even the key clicker won't even work on the car anymore. I would literally need to use the actual key to open the car which sets off the engine.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!! Looking for what might be the problem!!!!
Thanks!

Ignition coils and wires are just as important to your ignition as the plugs. They should be replaced together, as they tend to fail together. Replacing plugs doesn't help if the coils can't send the electrical charge.
That being said, hot start problems are a classic sign of compression failure. Go get a compression test at a dealer. They may insist that you replace coils and wires first though, so I recommend doing that before going for the test to avoid paying their crazy prices.

I feel your pain, only advice i have is there is some great info on the fourm take the time to look through it. i have learned alot and rather than just assume engine failiure other simple fixes can cure what seems like a knackerd engine.
