Hi guys,

I am a new very happy owner of an 05 RX8. I have put 1k miles on it and am absolutely loving it. It has right under 50k miles right now and drives\looks like it just came off the factory floor. I like doing subtle tasteful mods and this is my first car deserving of the $$$ to do much to it. My last car was a 01 Celica; great car but the RX8 is a step up for sure. I love everything about the RX8 except the gas mpg. Im averaging 17-18 right now and im used to 32-35 mpg. I expected the low mpg... if it got better mpg it would be a 10/10 for me.

Mods\purchases done:c
7 color changing front and rear footwell lights. (default red)
Red LED interior lights (map, door, trunk, dome, glove)
White LED License Plate lights
Hard wired in my V1 near the mirror
Painted calipers red
DIY Brushed Shift ****; mine was terribly scratched up and I sanded mine down giving it a brushed look. I am going to do mine a bit more and post a DIY later on how to do it.

Mods\purchases planned:
HD Lip
Ipod connection install
Pop out phone dock in ashtray install
Sub install possibly?
Shark fin maybe?
V1 custom concealed display install

 

Oh and I cut up some vinyl stickers I had and put it on the pillar. I think the gloss black on the flat black looks awesome.

Check out the new member stickies. There are some important, cheap mods and maintenance that should be done. The cosmetic stuff is cool and all, but its all for naught if the car stops running.

 

Yes thanks! I have been spending lots of silent time on here reading everything. I first did all the immediate maintenance\checks and have a maintenance plan.
