Hi Everyone, got a rx8 my dad shortly followed

Hi All,

Just a little introduction about me; i'm 20 from Newcastle and this is my 2nd car ( the first being a 1995 Rover Mini, so its a little different ) I've kept my other one but it hasn't really been used since.

I'm not going to be asking silly questions as I have done my research along with my Dad who's a mechanic and I hoping to know everything about these. The first one I looked at was a Evolve with 40k and black alloys but was put off by the dealer ( wouldn't let me test drive it ) and made a short trip down to another dealer and instantly fell in love with despite it being substationly more expensive.

And this is Scarlet my 2006 231 in Velocity Red with only 29k on the clock.

I'm thinking about putting R3 alloys on her the charcoals/grey two tone ones if they come around at the right price.

A week after I bought mine my dad started to look at them as he fell in love with it as just as much as I did, we found a 2004 yellow one with 80k miles on which was rotten and had hot start issues which was the main reason he was put off. Eventually about 4 weeks later after mulling over numerous ones we found a Winning Blue one in Birmingham ( 240 miles away ) and we decided that after looking into it, it was worth the travel.

So my Dad picked up a very clean 2006 192 in Winning Blue with 50k miles

Looks good, welcome...

I know you read, but I still suggest the 2 threads in my signature. The $100 thread is a good one for both and 04 and an 06...

And, again, welcome.

Congrats! Welcome to the club. Just remember you can never know enough about these cars.

GL on finding those wheels, coming from an R3 owner who sold his, they are very expensive.

What!!! don't worry about stuff like that, just keep an eye out for meets in your area and go.

We're all just car guys.

That's true bit I did "ricer" mine out being so new to it when I got it. I'll probably go to one when I change my exhaust over and get some coilovers

I have managed to find a set of the 40th anniversary wheels which i'm hoping to get as the only difference ( to me anyway ) is that they are 182 not 19" which i guess would be better since i have 4 brand new tyres for them
