Hello! I hope that everyone had a good Christmas/New Year/winter Break! I seem to have become an unlikely owner of an RX-8 due to a frustrated and highly pissed off previous owner. I like these cars, and grew up around Rotaries. My dad had a few Rx-3's and 7's growing up. Never had the urge to go get one. Well this thing came along and I would seriously be going full retard if I declined the offer made by previous owner. The car is stuck in a parking spot and I will bring her into my domain in a day or so. From what I can tell the T/O bearing has pooped itself. I was witness to the whole thing over a span of a month. I only hope that I find this to be a quick fix up job so I can see what all the fuss is about in these cars. I'm sure It will not disappoint, I just want to know for myself. The upkeep does not bother me as much as it would a normal person. You see I own a VW, and like a Rotary...it is an attention ***** and probably eats more oil. The 8 is a 2009 Touring 6-speed model. Has about 80,000 miles and is in great shape. It has had dealer service its whole life, but after reading a bit that does not mean much. However the owner was aware of most of the maintenance and always kept it up. Little about myself: My name is Rick, I live in Baton Rouge, LA. I work for the man. I like typical man ****. Cars, bikes, guns, hamsters, and Maine Coons...on a serious note. Anyone on here close to me? I offer much beer and food for an extra pair of hands to help with the 8 when it finally comes into my house. Just don't murder me in the process. PICTARS!

Well, finally got the T/O bearing replaced along with the clutch. Broke it in for about 1k miles, I know... too much, but I'm careful about stuff. The stock clutch looked brand new. Shame the bearing failed, good thing it was at idle. Man what a PITA to do by yourself.
