Thought perhapse the battry in the fob was going out so I replaced it. Problem still persists.
06 6speed I can use the buttons on the credit card style fob to lock unlock open the trunk, however the buttons on the door handle and the keyless start does not work. The dash light is not on and has never been, other than when I had to replace the battery in the fob a while ago.
Any suggestions?

I should probably say I only have the one key fob, I'm guessing it itself is broken. Any way to test what component, fob, vehicle, or sensor is faulty.

That's odd. My keyless remote ('06 MT Shinka) will lock/unlock doors and truck, set and disarm alarm. 50% of the time it will not allow the keyless start function to engage as the red KEY indicator on the dash illuminates. I've figured out that if I open the driver door and close it again the problems ceases. Probably an antenna issue but I have bigger fish to fry as the trans seems to have failed.
