TN Looking for an introduction or advice.

I live in the Nashville area and I ear the import scene is pretty big here. I have a buddy that rides with some pretty major motorcycle groups in Nashville that have regular encounters with a group he lovingly refer's to as "the tuners" lol. Anyway, I'm learning more and more about my car, and wanting to branch into modifications and possibly even some fabrication in the future, I thought it would be great to get in with these guys and make friends with other local car enthusiasts that do more than just park cars in parking lots and look at them if you catch my drift.

Anyway, I'm curious if anyone here knows of them, he said they are regularly at the Exon station in Nashville under the Vet's Bridge. If not, any tips for approaching and getting on the in crowd with such a group. I'm former military, so I've very accustomed to having to constantly assimilate into new groups and cultures. I just wasn't sure if driving up into the middle of a group of "enthusiasts" and saying hey whats up would be a social faux pas in the enthusiasts community.

But like I said, even better, if you know the group I'm talking about and are in this area, I'd love to get a chance to hang out with other guys/gals who love their cars, and more importantly, drive them.

There's really no big groups in the area any more. The largest groups fragmented around 5~10 years ago (makes me feel REALLY old). There's a few groups that go out regularly, but police tend to run everyone off. Also, typically they're pretty young (16~22).

There's a couple "big boy" groups that damn near require 350+HP or they shew you away. lol
