SoCal area, what would you say to another tuning option?

So recently I talked to Neptune Speed and had a long conversation with one of their reps. And a question popped into both of our heads...

Who would be interested if a loved and trusted ROTARY Shop such as, Neptune, was able to tune your RX8, boosted or not, with your Cobb AP?

Right now I have the opportunity to help get them there, and be a guinea pig for them, but I want to know if it will be worth it. Will my sacrifice be wasted if something goes wrong, or would the rest of the RX8 enthusiast SoCal community gain a reliable tuning shop that is so rare?

Even if you do not live in SoCal, but would like another option aside from someone like, lets say....MazdaManiac, who we all know the history on that guy, please vote as well.

Most of the people i know with a Cobb AP have a difficult time tuning. The closest person iv heard that can tune the rx8 very well is located in AZ. So im not sure if anyone is willing to go out there just for a tune. Also, with the large amount of RE's we have out here in SoCal, it would be great to have a well known RE shop be able to tune our cars as well.

You're right, just about everyone is hooked by MM. We need more, better options. I'm looking to make that happen for some of us

Yeah, MM is the only one that i know that can tune well. I am actually about to buy a brand new Cobb AP from them with the MM tune already installed, because i am worried that if i buy a used AP, i wouldnt be able to figure out how to tune it unless i had some help.

I like the idea of having a local or at least a semi local shop who can Cobb tune the 8. Nice poll and thanks for the willingness to take one for the team.

Great idea, Ronnie, and one I would support Neptune on in any way that BHR could.
There will be a bit of an investment on Neptune's part, initially, but the first few tunes and the ancillary work that they would get as a result would recoup that initial capital outlay rather quickly. Plus, if they have a dyno, Neptune could be the next location for the SoCal Dyno Meets that used to take place at SR Motorcars (or, in addition to).
I'll be sure to let them know that. Glad I have some support.
