considering buying a possibly flooded rx-8
A guy is letting go of an 06 gt rx8 with 99k for $2500, here's his post
This 2006 RX-8 is in good overall condition and has never been in an accident. The odometer shows 99k miles. It is a one owner car with no major exterior/interior imperfections. It just received a new catalytic converter from Mazda and has had regular maintenance with Mobil1 synthetic oil changes every 2800-3200 miles. It has a clear TX title and is ready to transfer.
Reason for sale: I drove it to eat dinner with friends, parked it, came out an hour later and it wouldn't start. I've already purchased another car and don't have time or interest to pursue fixing this one.
I think its flooded and would be a steal if i can get it at this price but first i need to confirm with mazda its still under the 8yr/100k warranty, in case i need a new motor.
Basically my question was if it's under warranty and i decide to look into this car, is there anyone in the Forth Worth Tx area willing to help me de-flood this car before i purchase it???
oh and i don't mind paying either

Well, if it is a six spees manual, all you need to do is push/pull start the car. You should also replace the basic ignition components if you want a successful deflood, not knowing the history of the car, but you know that already. Look into the RX-8 members in SARX, they may be able to refer you to people they know who may help.
Yeah, that could be a total steal. Plenty of DIYs on how to get the engine started, and would clearly need some maintenance, and you would have to get it in for a compression test immediately before the mileage ran out. As a 2006, it should still be under warranty.
