Besides that, I installed a obx one and IMO it's not worth the labor.

 

Rare true, but with my new engine going in, if I can find a RB Header, it would be easier to install before it goes in...

Well, 30 minutes for some...

Besides with the new engine going in soon, it would be easier getting a good quality header in there with the engine out. A header is the only bolt on I haven't installed (I believe lol)

 

might as well just save some money and pick up the TXS header (or an ebay special ... which is somewhat of a carbon copy). The main benefits of the RB header are the nicer mating flange (obx had some fitment issues) and the slightly better merge collector. Up to you to decide if that's worth an extra 200-300 dollars over other brands.

 

And you see here's where the dilemma comes in. To me, better quality, no matter $200-300 is worth it, even for roughly the same amount of power... It's stupid, I know but I don't like putting crappy parts on my 8... This isn't a Honda... That's all...

 

Contact The Partsgroup - Mazda Miata & RX8 Used Parts, I know they had a Speedsource header not too long ago.

That's ceramic powder coat, did the inside and the outside of the header. It's rated to 1800F, similar to what Jet Hot does, it's for heat management.

I think the price would be too high for you lol, good luck with your search though, unfortunately I've never seen a used one roll through here.

Yeah a header is the last bolt on I need...

Was about to win one on eBay today, but I fell asleep at 2pm, bid ended at 6 and I woke up at 6:30 got outbid by $5... FML

 

I was also keeping an eye on that listing Lol. There is another one for sale, but the guy is only selling it with a mid-pipe unfortunately...
