Exclamation Should i buy this rx-8

hey guys/ ladies hows it going?
I've been creeping around on these forums for months and finally decided to make an account since I'm getting closer to purchasing an 8.
some background info on me I am a college student and I do have a job but I drop down to 16-24 hrs during school as I am majoring in biology pre-dental. I currently have about 5 grand saved and am looking to purchase a rwd car. The cars I have in mind are the rx8, 300zx, 350zx, and my spending limit is 6500k. Once school starts I get a $2000+ check every semester from my school to help me cover my tuition but I never use it so I plan to keep it aside as a gas / "holy shizz my 8!!!! its broken/wont start/ needs a new engine/exploded ( i hope it never explodes)" funds lol
I plan to purchase my first car this summer and although I have only driven autos, I want a manual regardless of what car I end up with.... hopefully an 8

I've read the newbies threads and I am aware that this car can be costly, if not maintained properly. I recently found a car right in my budget with low miles but there are some things about it that have me worried mainly because I'm wondering how much more $$$ Ill have to fork over to get it back in normal condition, versus getting one with higher mileage and not having to fix anything, if someone could give me a ballpark estimate as to what it'd cost to get all the cons he lists fixed I could use that as leverage to negotiate the price, or if you guys think I should walk away let me know

here's the craigslist ad below

Welcome, i would say do a compression test on the 8, make sure the owner works on the fuel leak and once those are taken care of, it's really up to preference after that. Have you done your homework on purchasing a rotary vehicle and what it entails? Worst thing you can do is purchase it and not keep up with the maintenance which in turn the car will wither away.

Welcome, IMHO you should think about getting a stock car. This sounds like a money pit to me.
AC in Texas would be a must.
The ladies don't like to sweat
Good luck!

awesome, thanks guys after reading up on this guys other post i think ill pass on this car, simply because he told me his hvac/radio was stolen, and that he put all the stock parts back in the car, but in one of his posts he's parting out his car and he sold his hvac/radio and some of his stock parts so now i wonder what else he's lying about..........

thanks paimon.soror and the rest of you guys seriously, i even had a test drive next week but i will be cancelling that now as i would rather spend a bit more and have a car in better condition

thanks alot everyone
