Series II TPMS

I know that when you buy both your wheels and tires from the same seller (like TireRack) they offer to install the TPMS sensor for free. Although they require you to purchase new sensors which are priced at around $200 for 4 of them. I was wondering if it is possible to transfer the OE Pressure Sensors to the Aftermarket wheels. As well as what it would take to do that, if it is possible.

Sure you can transfer them over as long as your new wheels don't have some funky mounting for the valve stem. What wheel are you planning to go with?

I got a set of 18x8 Sparco Assetto Gara(s).
The wheels will arrive with the tire already mounted and balanced, will this be a problem?

Basically I'm not too sure what is required to swap the OE sensors.
Do I need to replace anything?

You will have to let the air out of the tires and swap the tpms/valve stems. And then rebalance the wheels. Basically almost remounting the whole tire.

It would be easier for the shop to bring them unmounted as they are actually doing more work now.

The whole cost of you bringing your new wheel and tire combo and swapping the sensors and then rebalancing may be more close to the same price as buying a set of tpms sensors and having the Tirerack just install them all together.

I guess it depends how much you can get a shop to do the labor for. If it's like $20 a tire it could still be worth it. But if you spend the $200 you would have a whole extra set of TPMS and swap wheels back and forth with no problems. Or sell the extra TPMS and recoup some of your money?
