I don't like hearing about rotary cars being hacked up just to stuff in some used junk motor and eventually being left for dead because no one wants the mess it became. This is supposed to be a site for rotary enthusiasts. No more of these cars are being made and they are being ruined left and right for pointless motor swaps. There are plenty of mass production cars to stuff turbo 4 cylinders and V8s in without ruining the 8. Other rotary swaps is fine, but keep it Mazda. I think most members would agree.

 

A bit strong but I'm with you about not liking engine swaps in these, IMHO it just ruins the car and takes away its character and purpose.

 

Do you realize that the vast majority of motor swaps for the 8 are the 13b and the 20b?

Consideration for a subforum here to keep the swap threads out of the rest of the RX-8 stuff is something in progress after a discussion among the staff recently.

However, this is also in the wrong forum. Moving to Suggestions, which is a subforum for suggestions to change how the forum handles stuff.

It is ironic that you comment on swap threads needing their own forum because they aren't appropriate here, while posting that thought in an inappropriate subforum.

Lead by example maybe?

 

I just saw the yet another engine swap thread and responded without thinking. I actually should have said piston engine swaps need their own forum.

 

 

Please... swap more motors and trash more cars... maybe the value of mine will come back up a little...
