RX-8 HID vs halogen HID

Hello, I would like to know if some of you tried changing the bulbs on a HID rx-8 to a bluer tone. I currently have D2S HID stock bulbs and I find they aren't bright enough when it snows or when there is fog. I was wondering if it would be brighter if I went with the halogen headlamp with a HID ballast and bulb conversion kit or should I just get higher kelvin degree D2S bulbs to use on my stock headlamps? By the way, if I get a bluer bulb would I need a conversion kit or any special fitting to install them or it's just plug and play? Thanks.

By the way, I know that a lower level of kelvin helps in fog, I have the fog lights for that.

i tried a ballest kit for giggles and it was brighter but burned out quick and it wasnt cheap almost $200. So i now have stock parts and 8k blubs which are brighter then my stock ones were. Its cheaper to get bulbs, and if you dont like them you could always sell them and try a kit if you so wish.
