FL Clutch change!

So, I'm changing the burned out stock clutch for a new one, any tips or tricks when it comes to doing this. I've never done it before but the on base mechanic is going to help out, but if you have done it before and can think of anything I should be aware of please let me know.

Nothing to it, just make sure the PPF is aligned properly. You may have to adjust the clutch pedal free play after installing a new clutch. Ensure to also renew the pilot bearing and throw out bearing.

I have the new throw-out bearing as well, but pilot bearing? what is that?

if you look in the shop manual, Foxed.ca - Mazda RX-7 Manuals

it lists the power plant frame alignment spec, its the most important thing on the car, get it wrong and it'll feel like the engine is sitting on the frame, because it is....

the clutch pedal freeplay is also a good one, i find its usually come loose anyways

other than that, doing a clutch in an 8 is pretty straightforward, everything is easy to get at from the bottom. the power plant frame can stay in the car, but the cat needs to come off.

the trans is HEAVY, so have a jack, or a friend, or a friend named jack.
