Series 1 Radio to Series 2 Radio

Hi guys, I just bought a 2009 Mazda Rx8 R3 and the radio dosen't work. I was wondering if there was any way to retrofit a series 1 radio to a series 2. And if that dosent work is there any place besides mazda like online where I could buy a radio to replace my exsisting one.

it will not work. Different communications protocol.

Why not just go aftermarket?

Check ebay for OEM.

as long as it's factory yes, aftermarket will require a substantial investment in a metra dash kit, wiring harness, and a pac steering wheel control interface along with the cost of a head unit. I'm not sure what stock head units go for but I would just weigh the options then make your decision.

Do you have the Bose system? If so, I am just about to put one up for sale.
