2004 RX-8, 144k miles

Hey guys,

So I'm in the market for an RX-8, and I figured this would be the best place to get a strong knowledge based opinion.

I found this one: Black 2004 rx8! ..california car! need gone

I looked up the carfax report on it: CARFAX Vehicle History Report on JM1FE173740133362

No problems whatsoever! I was actually pretty impressed with how clean it is. I've talked the guy down to 6200. The only thing I'm really wary of is the fact that the engine has never been replaced, and it's up to 144k miles. The guy is doing some clean up maintenance on it for me (New spark plugs, transmission flush, 2 new belts) I guess, what do you guys think about this vehicle?

If you need anymore details just ask! thanks everyone

COMPRESSION CHECK!!!!!!!!!

The main reason i bought the 8 i did, was because it had a FRESH engine by a reputable rotary engine builder.

I'd expect to replace that motor very soon with that many miles on it

Haha, I've read that! I'm waiting on a reply about a compression check already, I'm not a complete noobie here. If the compression check goes well, is it still probably a no go with that many miles on a single engine?

IMO personally i wouldn't.

Its not just the motor that has traveled that many miles, everything else on the car has aswell

Someone drove the hell out of that car, between 2008 and 2010 they put 50k miles on it.

Mileage too high. Find another one with lesser miles and still has warranty on it, good luck.
