What % tint?
For whatever it's worth, I think the 30% tint is perfect. It is pretty dark, but not so much so it looks completely blacked out like "Limo" tint - which will attract the attention of the gendarmes and get you a ticket. I've had many different levels of tint on many different cars over the years (I used to live in Southern Arizona and it's a must-have there) and this 30% is by far the best compromise. Dark enough to look sweet, but not too dark, IMHO. Hope this helps.
I was thinking either going 35% all round or goin limo on the back and 35% on front but then the limo is so dark that it makes the 35% look lighter then it really is.. thnx for posts guys i think im goin 30-35% all round
In Maryland, the law says we have to have a minimum of 35% on sides and back windows. That includes the stock tinting. As I understand it, stock the car comes with windows tinted at about 70%. Therefore, the max additional tinting I can have added is 50%. (70% x 50% = 35%)
Any suggestions in the Silver Spring area of Maryland for tinting shops?

I am not really much into tinting since I always wanted everyone to see the neat features inside, but lately with all the fingerprints on the outside where people are looking through the factory tinting to see the kool interior, I have been thinking about tinting.
Problem is that I do not know anything about 35% or 70% or 5% and any other percent I have seen mentioned here and I do not know what is legal here in Texas. Driving and mods I have absolutely no problems with and when I raced autox I did very well. I just have no experience with the %s in tinting.
Can anyone give me some idea about what the % is actually refering to and what looks good .vs. what is legal? I know that limo is way to dark.
And what about the kind of tint and the installer? I see a lot of tinting that really looks like $h!+. What about the wires on the inside of the back window and tint?

Every state has their own legal limit. I know that here in OH the legal limit is 50%. Which to me is waayyyy to high...
Correct me if I am wrong guys, but I think that in most states you can have a % that is very dark on the rear windows, as long as the front cabin windows are in context of the legal limits.

My installer is very good, and did a very, very clean job. I asked him about the rear window, and he said it was a B*@#$ to work with, but he did very well with it.
I dont know about everyone else, but he had to do install the rear in 3 pieces, so i can slightly see the 2 creases at night. Overall, I am very happy with the % I have and the quality of the tint. (lifetime warranty = pretty much anything happens, and i can have it replaced)
I hope this helps....

In any case, I live in Texas and just found out that the legal limit is 25%. So I can't go 5% on the side glass. The rear can be anything I want, but I think I'll go with 20% there and I guess I'll have to go with 35% on the side glass.
Where did they come up with 25% when the film comes in 5, 20 and 35? Oh well.
I went with Onyx tinting film, 20% in back, 35% in front.
My rear window they did in one piece, so, rotor8u, it is possible to have it done in a single piece, but if it is huber optics tinting, it wont look as good, due to the thicker material used, but it is better quality, but if you go for a low quality tint, it will turn purplish, and bubble in a few years... which is why you see so many tint jobs looking pretty bad
