Angry Esmeril - Bad Workmanship...

I am not one to try and bad talk anyone. But after recent events i feel as if my last nerve was ripped away from me painfully...

So after ordering the standard turbo kit from Esmeril, with a 6 week build time and 2 weeks for shipping my estimated receive time for the kit was May 28. Come June 1 i still havent received my kit and i sent them a message for a status update and another message on the 4th. Come June 6 they give me this explanation on how garret was to switching factories and had my turbo on the back burner. So they were going to upgrade me to a precision turbo that would give me a little more top end power. Now while this is believable and understandable and obviously sounds like a plus, why does it say in the components of the standard turbo kit that im suppose to receive a "Genuine Precision Turbocharger", but yet Garrett is the one that is making me wait.

Meantime i had ordered and received their ignition kit and upon installation i have a parasitic drain from my battery and asked a troubleshooting question that i have yet to receive an answer to.

On 7 June i ordered the injector harness so i dont have to cut into the original plugs in case i want to go back to stock for whatever reason. It was marked shipped on June 13, the same day my turbo was shipped, but did not receive the tracking number. Upon receipt of the Turbo Kit, June 21, i inspected the 2 boxes and the harness was not in there and i sent them a message the same day.

All the items that was suppose to be part of the turbo kit were there, however the workmanship of all the items were not good.

- The Intake pipe between the filter and the turbo was the wrong diameter so that makes it unusable

- The Intercooler bracket holes were not aligned and would have to make new holes to make it work.

- The intercooler piping that connects to the throttle body was the wrong diameter and had too much of a curve on it, i could not even use it.

- The silicone elbow that goes on the outlet of the turbo was too big as well, and the silicone connector that goes to the throttle body was too small.

All this was sent as a message to Esmeril through mazdaparts.com and i have yet to receive a message on it.

Since patience is not one of my virtues and waiting 3 months just to get my order, I figured out exactly how to get it all together and a couple hundred dollars later, i got it on.

I had to drill the holes on the intercooler bracket, I went with my AEM intake pipe in order to have a decent fit. Ordered the silicone elbow... and after a few other minor things to get like missing screws and such i was able to complete it

What pushed me over the edge was after 3 weeks of sending the message asking about the missing harness that i never received, i send him a message today 11 jun that i'm going to Paypal to get a refund on the item i never got. And within 2 hours of disputing the charge he sends a reply. So... I can send messages to them all day and never receive a reply, but when it comes to getting money back on something they failed to send it only takes 2 hours.

In their dispute they gave a tracking number of an item that was shipped/received mid May. Yet the order for the harness was made in June.

I know im not the only one out there that has had problems with these people... And i will reinforce the fact that they have very bad communication skills and their workmanship is not 100%. After spending $4000 the last thing i want to do is spend more money to correct anything they have done wrong. And when ordering a Bolt-on kit, regardless of price, customers expect nothing less than 100%

9K I knew i'd get you're attention , thanks me too man. I know you were tracking that one guy's progress with this same dumb kit. I have like 2 weeks left in FL (visiting) and considering taking it down to PETIT racing in west palm beach. See if they can craft some stuff to resolve the cooling issues i have. The tuner i took it to in HI got it to a little above 3 to the wheel, but couldn't go further do the the coolant issue.

The reason I never got their kit back in 2008 was because when I emailed them, they took a long time to respond. communication was terrible.
