Hey guys, got my RX about 3 weeks ago but am finally now getting to registering and posting here. I must have read all the stickies here 10 times before i decided i was ready to jump on the rx wagon, and im glad i did. I wound up with an 04 in silver with the two tone red/black interior.

I'm fairly certain it's a GT as it has the 6speed, bose audio, moon roof, power driver seat, heated seats, tire pressure monitors, two tone leather, and what i thought was the 6 disc in dash changer. However all attempts at trying to load more than 1 disc into the stereo have resulted in failures. According to the manual the load button should beep after 2 seconds but it never does. So im confused about the fact that all the other options indicate the full lot of packages yet it doesn't have the changer? The only info the previous owner gave me about packages was it had the sport package.

I come from the "wonderful" world of E46 bmws so im no stranger to the high cost of owning some cars. Over in that realm there's plenty of info on normal wear items like control arms, bushings, etc however i never really found anything akin to that here? Im also curious to know what sorts of things i should be looking for to replace that start to wear out on an 8 year old car like this? The *** end seems to wallow at highway speeds so im pretty sure it's time to swap out the shocks, a tune up is already on my to do list as well.

In my Shinka, holding load for 2 seconds activates the (Load All) function. But you can also press load, and then hit the position you want the cd (2 for CD2 5 for CD5) If that doesnt work I would put my money on you not having a 6 changer.

 

Yeah holding the load for more than that doesn't seem to do anything, but ill try the second option. What im confused about is from what i read the changer was a standard option for the GT packages especially if you had the Bose audio. Wouldn't the first owner have had to say "yeah give me everything, but i hate changers so dont do that"? or something to NOT get it?
