just got my car back with new motor, at idle the ssv valve sounds like a shop vac at a distance. anyone ever heard of this noise? never done this before. thanks. oh yea, any thing above idle the sound goes away.

 

You mean you have a vacuum leak?
Or the SSV is clicking?

A video/audio clip would really help

 

no clicken, just sounds like a vacume leek, i put my hand over it & it is not as loud.

 

Bring car back to shop, and tell them they screwed something up.

took it back & come to find out with the new motor it has lots more vacume. he sprayed something like wd-40 in the valve & no more hissen now ! thanks for the come back guys!!! looken foword to the 1,000 break in point, i told my wife if she revs it up past 4,000 rpm befor then it would blow the motor . she is a speed demon, i just want the thing broke in wright. by the way, the mech. said never use p b, blaster on valves, it will get sticky after a while, & next thing you know you have a stuck or sticking valve. but i like pb blaster on lots of things that wd-40 cant do...
