Upgrade Series II Reverse Light?

Has anybody found any way to upgrade series2 reverse light to be brighter? I found these bulbs online but have never used LED bulbs before.

Are there any down-falls or things to be weary of when using LED bulbs? I really don't want to mess up any wiring or cause problems.

Thanks

Yes, I really did not realize how dull the wattage is...

EPC is showing a 16 Watt ONLY Reverse Lamp/Globes.

Provided you can get them, and I see no reason, I would try for same physical size bulb but in 21 Watt instead of 16W...they could be a little too large for globe holder and too large to fit in behind Tail Lamp base hole.

LED's..??....personally I don't have any experience with them, there have been communication issues with "some" brands of LED's with Key-less Entry etc.

I guess you can only try?

Plz let us know.

Did some more checking...

You could try the generic globes used in the Series 1 RX-8 reverse light.....they use a 21 Watt.

This is the Mazda part # 9970-06-210 12V21W, and will fit existing S2 Reverse Light Socket, but can't confirm it will fit into Tail Light Body...I think you will be fine, Globes only $2.57 each...and will give you a 35-40% brighter Reverse Light.??

Or try LED?
