AZ Dealer installation

In a couple of months I'm going to start looking for an RX8 and was wondering if I picked one up from a dealership if I could have them add on after market rims and add it onto the total. (I will be financing it)

They will charge you a rediculous amount to do this.

No but here's what I think is cheapest.

Order new aftermarket wheels mounted on new tires with TPMS from say tirerack.com and then install them yourself.

Take the brand new OEM wheels and tires and make a for sale thread in the FS forums here and make back your money.

What year and model are you looking at? Is it an R3?

Yeah the R3. I would have to check out Tirerack.com and see what the prices are. I'm still waiting for the one I want to pop up in my area though so it might be a couple months.. This is my second car and I test drove every popular coupe out there and ended up wanting an 8.

You best be careful - R3s are a bit rare in the new car field... You could save a good bit of money tif you could pick up a 2010.

Brand new R3 wheels and rims will net you a nice chunk of change. They are very nice wheels.

You could probably make a "For Trade" thread. There are a lot of people who want the R3 wheels. Just out of curiosity, what wheels do you want to replace them with? Do you have specific ones in mind?

Yes Mazda is very proud of them. I have the 18" ones that look pretty much the same but a different color as the r3 rims. I called up Mazda just to see how much mine were to replace and I remember somewhere around $600 per rim. The r3 rims have got to be at least $800 each if not more from them.

The rims can be found for 250-300 each without a tire if you look hard enough.

Mazda wants 4500 for a set of wheels and tires for the R3. It's all mark up.

Yea I know you would not actually buy them at Mazda, but I was just putting it out there that they are super expensive. I cant believe going from 18s to 19s and changing the color is enough to double the price on those rims lol.

If I decide to sell them then I will check it out but for now I will hold onto them. I'm not sure on the rims quite yet though I have been looking around. If you have any suggestions i'm more then willing to check it out though!
