Automobile mag - Goodbye to the RX-8 and Lotus Elise
Automobile mag - Goodbye to the RX-8 and Lotus Elise
Tear....not really. Lotus has much better cars underway and already available. Mazda on the other hand....where's our rotary replacement?
I want 12k red line in the next model. Maybe I'm retarded though. It's a fact I'm a drunk.
Go Saints.

Mazda on the other hand hasn't shown us squat.
Digging for some info on the R3, I found a separate automobile mag review for the 2011 R3. I don't think this has been posted here yet:
2011 Mazda RX-8 R3 Review
Also I found an interesting note about those weird decals I was curious about. Apparently they were originally from the Pebble Beach show but Mazda was (is?) considering selling them.

ADDITIONAL SPECS:
The RX-8 can go from zero to 60 in just about six seconds. As for our RX-8's livery, Mazda product communication specialist Beverly Braga says, "We're currently working on a proposed kit, so it might look slightly different from what's currently on the car. We really meant for it to be a one-time thing during Pebble Beach, but the reaction to it was so positive, we might just sell it for real after all. 'Might' being the key word though.

Hard to say that since they are comparing to a hardcore sports car. I'd agree that the RX-8 seems soft but the article itself is a good tribute to both cars. Check out the video in the link for added color to the written article.
There also was a good follow up in the 'letters' section in the March issue. Perhaps another member?:
"My 2004 RX-8 and 2005 Elise have provided reliability in spades, whether I'm slogging through traffic or touring country roads. Life may begin at 8000 rpm, but doesn't end below 4000 rpm. Thanks for giving other enthusiasts the chance to feel what I am lucky enough to experience every day. The unique cars will surely be missed-but not my me." Jason Stone Ridge, VA
