Hey gang, just wanted to stop by and say hello. I just bought a 2007 RX8 with only 28K miles for $13,900. This thing is in incredible condition. Just had the engine compression check done at Mazda and it did great (Rotor 2: 7.9, 8.1, 8.0 @ 297 RPMs, Rotor 1: 8.3, 8.3, 8.3 @ 300 RPM's). I can't wait to dig into the FAQs and stickies here to know what to look for first. Good to be here!

Ha.. sorry guys, you're right!!! It was nasty weather yesterday and is POURING here today, so I didn't want to try and get good shots under an umbrella. Here's a shot I took right after buying it sitting next to my wifes Mazda... Ha. His and hers!

BTW, I'm happy I got a great score back on the compression check. But I want to make sure I knock out any other "gotchas" from a used car. I'll search the forums for a "new RX8 owner - do this first" type sticky, so that should take care of that I hope. LOVE driving this car. SO very tight. And the whirring sound of the rotary (best way I can describe it) is so very cool.

I've been literally glued to the "New and Potential owners" link for a couple hours. Great info! I know the plugs were changed in August, but I have no idea about the wires and coils, so I'm doing that straight off I think, along with both air filters.

 

Those are good compression numbers. Anyway, congrats and welcome to the club.

 

The excitment of a new owneri s fantastic. Congrats on the new ride. Even more fantastic is the fact that I still get excited every time I climb into her.
