I was wondering if anyone knows how to open the rear view mirror... this rattle is pissing me off and I really want to fix it without destroying my mirror

Common problem, mine's "buzzed" since day one, drives me nuts too. If I squeeze it, it'll sometimes stop for a few days/weeks. But hit a good bump and it's always back. I haven't had the courage to open it up to fix it.

 

Couple of dabs of silicone - I like the black stuff, when it hardens it looks like plastic. (I know a guy who calls it Radio Glue!)

I think it's the case design, the clip together concept sucks.
