Yay, another mediocre car-reviewingish blog knocking the Rx-8!

I hate how they refer to us as fan boys... it's more like real car enthusiasts and not drivers who have yet to realize the advancement of automobiles when they were able to turn.

"inconvenient oil-consumption" LOL! Wow, every 2 weeks I have to add a little oil to the engine. As soon as I see that statement from any writer I stop reading.

Winding Road actually loves the RX-8. Most of their reviews praise the car very much. One unfortunately cannot sugar-coat much statements though. The car is low on torque, high on fuel consumption, and does consume oil (albeit by design). Still one of the greatest driving machines I've ever found.

LOL they call us fanboys?.... I know the our cars have no torque, but like one comment said, 0-60 in ~6 seconds is pretty damn impressive for the engine and what not.

There will always be haters who can't see what a great piece of advancement our cars are

O stop. The 8 was designed to be very polarizing. That's what happens when you go against the grain most of the time.

Yep! Better this list than the "10 Least Polarizing Cars". Corolla anyone?

Judging by the responses there, I think some of you decided to voice your opinions.

i like our cars - hell, i almost crashed into a car because i was looking into a building with mirrored windows...

It moving catches my heart.

It's like dating a swedish supermodel that's going for her PhD in child daycare and can speak 10 languages, and creates an invention to instantly chill beer and bringing it on a platnium dish of pure liquid gold.

It's like that. but 10x better.

Young women 1/2 to 1/3 my age still come up and ask me about this car, they like it even better when I tell them it's my wifes track and show car. NON Polarizing indeed.

My Trans AM burns much more oil than my 8. My 8 uses about the same amount of oil as our A6.

lmo a quart for 3000 miles is bad????

How much fluid does the USAF's SR21 (not sure if thats right?) Blackbird leak while it's on the ground?

And the guy says "fanboy" obviously was easy for them to talk crap about what they did not understand

Strait line draggers won't get the RX-8, nor bench time readers will get the RX-8, only enthusiast like us get it.

And as far as drinking oil, I am still shock none of the car magazines have not picked up on Nissans VQ motors which have a thirsty comsumption for oil. When I had my '02 Maxima, that car would drink 2.5 quarts of oil every two weeks, granted I drove 110 round drip 5 days aweek , but driving the same distance in my RX-8 i would but 2.5 quarts of oil a month.

These ignorant and misinformed people are off there rocker. I love my RX-8 and I will never get rid of it. I have other cars to drive too, that have more HP and Torqe and would give my RX-8 a run for it's money, but at the end of the day , my other two cars have nothing on the RX-8 when it comes to the FEEL department. The Rx-8 just feels right...

I'm only sad that the RX-8 is in the same list as the Murano CrossCabrio. Boohoohoo.

the rx8 doesn't even "Drink" oil....every place always makes it seem like the renesis just gulps the down like it gas and it isn't even close to that..

I put maybe a 1/4 to a 1/3 of a quart like every 4 fuel fills (like every 1200 miles) I don't call that "drinking" figuring the car itself went through how many gallons of fuel in that 1200 miles (~52)

So I can use maybe one bottle of oil (which costs next to nothing to me) every 5000 miles or so (just in time for an oil change)

If they changed the choice of word, it would be more realistic, they just use words that WAY over state the amount if actually uses.

The writer loses all credibility when they whine or over exaggerate the oil consumption. I mean, come one, it's not that much oil. You could have a car with a slow leak in one tire that requires you putting air in it once a week and that would be more of an inconvenience and time consuming than our oil.
