RX-8 2007 Mazdaspeed markings

I am shopping 2007 RX8 GT's and have noticed that some of the cars have
Mazdaspeed markings below the rear-passenger doors, these cars also have different alloy wheels;
The ones with mazdaspeed markings have 7 spoke alloy wheels and the others have 5 spoke rims.

Are the 5 spoke rims a different trim/option spec?
or do the mazdaspeed markings mean anything ?

Sorry if this is obvious.
I am anxious to get one of these, and join your ranks!

i believe only the 04 model yr had a MS trim level from the factory. so the MS markings on an 07 would be an aftermarket item.

as for the wheels i dont remember any 7 spoke mazda wheels, they are probably aftermarket as well.

pics would help

rofl. that's NOT Mazdaspeed wheel.

I have official Mazdaspeed Version II Wheels so I know what they look like. and Version I does not look like that.

Whoever tries to sell you that ... this is a scam, run away ASAP.

There is no such thing as a Mazdaspeed RX8.

The sticker on the rear door is only a sticker.

The 5 spoke rims are the stock RX8 wheels that are found on all RX-8s in North America. They are 18 x 8 +50 offset.

The 7 spoke you see is a Mazdasped MS-01 rim that is lighter than the stock 5-spoke wheels. They are 18 x 7.5 +50 offset and are meant for the Mazda 6.

For the 2007 year, Mazda Canada was running a promotion and was giving away these wheels for all RX-8 purchases in addition to the stock ones that come with the car.

For your purchasing information, there is no Mazdaspeed RX-8. If you find cars with these rims, ask about where the stock ones are. Note that the car was designed from the factory to run 18 x 8, not 18 x 7.5. So effectively you are losing out on grip if these wheels are the only ones that come with the car.

Everything is as Footman said, except the rims are the Mazdaspeed T-II version.

^ Yeah that's right... The MS-01's are actually the GOOD RX8 Mazdaspeed rims which are magnesium forged I think..

Thief has a set of those on his LY in Toronto.
