NEED HELP! Noise after 6k, Loss of power and more

Problem is:
1)When the car has been hot and driven for a long period of time ( 2 - 7 hours ) "yea i like taking long drives outside the town on my 8" back on topic, after driving for a long time, sometimes i get this sound after 6k rpm ( see and listen in the video You can hear the sound the best at 13-16 seconds in the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7vjE...eature=related) and loss of power.. So i need any suggestions on what it may be..

2)And another thing, after the car has been warmed up, i park it by the side, put in free gear, rev up to 6-7k, hold the revs up there and in about 5 sec Coolant light comes on. As soon as i stop reving it goes away..

3)And one more thing, after hard driving i recently decided to check my exhaust pipe (the whole thing) and i noticed in the middle of the exhaust there is a larger pipe, i think its called Catalytic converter on english (not sure) well that thing in the middle was glowing red on both ends and middle.

4)The car got ticking sound like this just a little less loud (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2aOLX1Uxphk)

History:
Mazda Rx8 Manual 2004 238hp got 71k km, ( 44k miles )
The car is bone stock.
Changed coils, spark wires less then 1k kilometers, clean MAF
Oil added regularly
Using 95 oct. petrol
Never been decarbed
I do 9k rev a day.
Never bring the car above 3k rpm until its hot and 20mins has passed from the ignition switched on.
Shut off at 3k rpm.

I would appreciate if any one could give tips and hints on any of the 4 mentioned above problems!

Thank you!
Anton.

ps. i love my 8 and don't want it being sick just tears me apart knowing that she isn't alright..

The ticking sounds like one of your plug wires is disconnected.

Best way to see which it is, is to tap each one with a finger - if the spark isn't going to ground thru the plug, it will go thru you and you'll get a small shock. No shock, no problem.

For the coolant light, top the fluid up to the top of the reservoir, the sensor gets iffy when it's old, and can float lower or sink. If that doesn't stop the light, you need a whole sensor and bottle assembly (they come together as one expensive part, might be wiser to live with the light)

Wait a minute.
They made a manual RX8 in 2004 that had a red line of only 7,500 rpm????????

HEY and wait .... it shows what gear you are in!?!?!!

Come-on I call bullshit that's not a standard! (is it?)

And that doesn't sound like a spark plug lead ... it sounds like a spark plug that is barely hanging on.
The compression is escaping past your thru the plug.

When is the last time you did the plugs

^the videos are not of my car, just exactly same problem
The owner before me claims to have changed plugs (not long ago) he has not tolled me the exact time or miles sins it was changed.. so i just ordered new sparkplugs and going to see if it will fix any of the problems mentioned above. If not im going to change Cat.

And all of the sparkplugs are firmly fastened.

Oh ... I think you have two problems for sure.

You said you could see the mid pipe glowing red ... that's pretty much the tell tale sign for a cooked catalytic.

Bad Catalytic converter and bad coolant level sensor in the overflow tank. Or low on coolant.

Depends ...............
Here in Ontario it's pretty tough to pass the E-Test, so the OEM CAT is pretty much a must.

I don't know what the emission laws are like in Iceland or how often they test for emissions .....
But I can tell you this ......

The only catalytic that here in Ontario that I've seen pass the Emission Test is the OEM Catalytic.
That one from eBay is not a OEM Catalytic.

Brand new from the dealer they are around 2000 cdn

If your intentions are to be completely legal and to have a car that does not stink, you are going to have to go to the dealer and buy another OEM Catalytic .....

Anything else is a crap shoot. Seriously doesn't matter one bit if the website is trustworthy or not ... that's just going to effect whether you actual get the product.

Edit:
BTW ... how the **** can you "kinda" live in Iceland? Are you also kinda pregnant?

It depends on the particular dealer who advertises on ebay. You're not buying from ebay itself.

Rock Auto has an aftermarket cat for a little lower price. You might look at that and contact them to see if theirs is acceptable in Iceland.

Well......you can check that(your plug install), but I don't think it would cause the issues you've stated now with the new CAT.
You've must have some sort of restriction in the exhaust stream or fuel really getting dumped in there due to bad coils perhaps?????
Whether a new exhaust or new cat, it might smell for a Little while. Not terribly concerned about that, but hard to say unless we were to smell it.

How's the car running besides this glowing?
How is it starting?
Any smoke from exhaust?
Who put the new CAT on and did it get a new o2 sensor?

By the way, I wouldn't drive it much at all until this gets sorted out.

Get a compression test. I had the same noise and power loss on hot days or long drives. I'm getting my engine replaced under warranty. A little bit of cat glow is normal under some heavy driving.

Ive replaced coils just 2000km ago

Okay it goes like this

The start up seems normal, but some little squeeky sound comes on for a second.. When cold alot of white smoke comes out of exhaust..

Driving is normal but sometimes i get this squeeky chirping sound when i accelerate.. After hard driving the car starts making this loud strange noise after 6k rpm and loss of power.. Sounds like civic..

The Idle is alittle rough but after hard driving the idle gets shitty.. drops to 750 and back up to 900 and the car gets really shaky and vibrating. Also when i listen to the exhaust at the back it sounds like the car is choking..

Also there is this ticking noise as u can see in video above.. And the ticking sounds becomes more frequent as i accelerate..

And no the o2 sensor wasnt replaced.. I think it might be the problem.. But if i am going to replace o2 sensor do i just buy the one thats on the cat or other?

ps. Thank you for a nice picture of wires im gunna check them out if they are sited properly.. And sorry for my english
